John Paul Markosian is a dedicated pianist and composer with over 14 years of piano study and 7 years of composition experience. Beginning his musical journey at a young age under the guidance of Dr. Mio Cowden, John Paul developed a strong foundation in piano performance and music theory. As a teenager, he was composing original works and presenting them in annual concerts, each featuring an hour of self-written music performed for family and community audiences. John Paul's passion for composition led him to Berklee College of Music, where he refined his craft through both original works and classical repertoire, including pieces by George Gershwin. His training with multiple composition instructors has shaped his understanding of the creative process, emphasizing the importance of developing a unique musical voice, honing compositional techniques, and applying theoretical knowledge to achieve expressive and impactful results. Today John Paul continues to compose and share his music, while guiding students in their own creative journeys. His teaching philosophy centers on helping aspiring composers discover their individual style, strengthen their technical foundation, and cultivating the discipline and joy that comes from daily engagement with music.
